Mani, at the southern tip of the Peloponnese, is a region of wild beauty and defiant history. With its characteristic stone towers, deserted villages and rocky coast, it offers a unique, authentic landscape. It is ideal for those seeking history, nature and quiet.
Mani went down in history as a land of unyielding warriors who never fully submitted to conquerors. The famous tower houses were built for defence during local feuds. It was here, in Areopoli, that the Greek War of Independence effectively began, on 17 March 1821. The Maniot character remains proud and authentic.
Vathia, with its tower houses perched on the hill, is the iconic image of Mani. Areopoli with its stone alleys, the impressive Diros Cave with its lake, Cape Tainaron (the “gate of Hades”) and the picturesque coves with clear waters stand out. Kardamyli and Stoupa offer beautiful beaches.
Maniot cuisine is based on olive oil, wild greens, syglino (smoked pork) and lalangi. Try local cheeses, honey and traditional dishes in tavernas in Areopoli and Kardamyli. The flavours are simple, pure and deeply connected to the land.
Nightlife is calm and authentic, with a few bars and tavernas in Areopoli, Kardamyli and Stoupa. Evenings pass in a relaxed way, with an emphasis on the view and company. Mani is a destination for quiet and exploration, not for intense partying.

For your trip within Greece, a valid national ID card or passport is enough. If you travel by air, you need an official photo ID for the airport check. For minors travelling, please check any required documents in advance.
Changes and cancellations follow the terms of the airlines, hotels and suppliers booked for you, so the cost depends on how close to departure you are and on the fare rules of each booking. Tell us as early as possible and we will look for the least costly option. The general terms of participation apply to every booking.
