Zurich, Switzerland’s largest city, is a refined waterside metropolis that harmoniously combines an outstanding quality of life, economic power and fairy-tale natural beauty. Built where the river Limmat meets the vast, deep-blue Lake Zurich, the city enchants visitors with its medieval centre, the snow-capped Alps rising in the distance and its clean alpine air. Known worldwide as one of the planet’s most important financial centres, Zurich pleasantly surprises those who explore it, as it hides a vibrant artistic culture, pioneering architecture, top-class gastronomy and a lively, youthful atmosphere. It is a premium destination offering an experience of absolute comfort, organisation and style.
Zurich began as a Roman customs post named “Turicum” and during the Middle Ages developed into a powerful, independent imperial city with extensive trade. In the 16th century, the city became the centre of the Protestant Reformation in German-speaking Switzerland under the guidance of Ulrich Zwingli, which profoundly influenced its culture and economic philosophy. In the early 20th century, Zurich became a refuge for intellectuals and artists from all over Europe; indeed, the subversive Dadaist art movement was born here in 1916. With the growth of its banking system and its technical universities, the city established itself as a global economic powerhouse, while keeping its historical and cultural heritage intact.
The tour begins in the Old Town (Altstadt), which stretches along both banks of the river Limmat, with its picturesque cobbled lanes and historic 19th-century buildings. There stand the city’s three iconic churches: the Grossmünster with its twin towers, the symbol of Zurich; the Fraumünster with its world-famous stained-glass windows by Marc Chagall; and St Peter’s, with the largest church clock face in Europe. For lovers of luxury shopping, the famous Bahnhofstrasse is one of the most expensive and elegant shopping streets in the world. Don’t miss a relaxing cruise on Lake Zurich or a stroll up Lindenhof hill for a magical view of the city from above. Finally, the Swiss National Museum (Landesmuseum), which looks like a fairy-tale castle, and the ultra-modern Lindt Home of Chocolate, with the largest chocolate fountain in the world, offer unforgettable experiences.
Zurich’s cuisine is refined, rich and deeply influenced by German and French gastronomy. The city’s quintessential traditional dish is Zürcher Geschnetzeltes (tender strips of veal cooked in a rich, creamy sauce of white wine, mushrooms and cream, always served with Rösti—a crispy, pan-fried cake of grated potato). Of course, Switzerland means cheese, so trying an authentic Cheese Fondue (fine melted cheeses with white wine in a special pot, into which you dip pieces of bread) is essential, especially in the colder months. For breakfast, try authentic Swiss Birchermüesli (oats with fresh fruit, nuts and yoghurt, invented right here). On the sweet side, the handmade truffles and the famous Luxemburgerli (tiny, delicate macarons) from the historic Sprüngli patisserie will delight you.
Zurich’s nightlife is unexpectedly lively and multifaceted, and the city has the highest density of clubs per capita in Switzerland. The evening starts with a glass of wine or a cocktail in the elegant bars of the Old Town or along the river. The absolute epicentre of modern entertainment, however, is Zürich-West (Züri-West). This former industrial zone has been transformed into the city’s trendiest and most alternative neighbourhood, where old factories and shipping containers now house bars, gourmet restaurants and art galleries. For lovers of clubbing and electronic music, clubs such as Hive and Kaufmannsladen are top choices, while the city is also famous for its “Badi-Bars”—riverside and lakeside bathing spots that transform at night into enchanting open-air bars beneath the stars.
The official currency of Switzerland is the Swiss Franc (CHF), so you will need to exchange currency or use a card (cards are accepted everywhere, even for the smallest amounts). Zurich is one hour behind Greece and the country’s international dialling code is 0041. The city is served by Zurich International Airport (ZRH), one of the most modern and best-organised in the world. Connecting to the centre is incredibly quick and easy: the airport’s underground Train station has departures every few minutes, taking you to the city’s Main Station (Zürich Hauptbahnhof) in the heart of the centre in just 10-12 minutes.

The full list of what is and is not included appears in the "Included / Excluded" section on this page.
It depends on the season and the destination. Many trips do have a direct flight, but depending on your dates the airlines may not have a direct connection available for that period, in which case the trip may involve one stopover. We will tell you the exact flight routing clearly in your quote, before you proceed with the booking.
Not necessarily. The "From €X" price is the lowest price available today, based on current flight and hotel availability for that destination. Because availability changes daily, the final price for your specific dates may differ. We'll send you a firm, written quote before anything is charged, once you tell us the dates you have in mind.
Flight and hotel prices change daily depending on season, demand, day of the week, and how far in advance you book. That's why the price shown is indicative — the earlier you tell us your dates, the easier it is for us to secure the best possible price.
The single-room supplement varies by hotel and destination, and is included in the quote you'll receive for your specific dates. If you're travelling alone, let us know from the start so the quote already reflects the correct single-room price.
Payment is due in full at the time of booking. For certain hotels that have their own payment policy (for example a deposit or a specific payment deadline), we'll let you know clearly before you proceed, so you know exactly what applies.
Yes — once your booking is confirmed, the price is fixed and won't be affected by later changes in flight or hotel prices. Availability and price can only change before your booking is finalised.
Several trips offer the option to depart from a city other than Athens (for example Thessaloniki), usually with a small additional charge. If this applies to a specific trip, it will be noted on the page or mentioned when we send your quote. This trip is also available departing from Larnaca (Cyprus) — the flight price difference is calculated in your personal quote.
For destinations inside the European Union and the Schengen area, Greek citizens travel with a new-type national ID card bearing Latin characters, or with a valid passport. We recommend carrying your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) as well. Minors must carry their own travel document, and a valid driving licence is required if you are hiring a car. Entry rules change, so please confirm the current requirements with us before you book.
Changes and cancellations follow the terms of the airlines, hotels and suppliers booked for you, so the cost depends on how close to departure you are and on the fare rules of each booking. Tell us as early as possible and we will look for the least costly option. The general terms of participation apply to every booking.
Travel insurance is not included in the price unless the "Included" list on this page says otherwise. We strongly recommend it, especially for trips outside the EU, so that medical care, cancellation and lost luggage are covered. We can arrange a policy for you — just ask when you book.
Yes — this is an individual trip, not a group departure. There is no fixed itinerary and no coach schedule: you travel on your own, at your own pace. We can change the number of nights, the class of hotel, add or drop destinations and arrange transfers, car hire or private guides.
Send us a request through the form on this page, call us, or drop by the office. We will come back with availability and a written quotation before anything is charged. The trip as shown runs for 4 days.
