Barcelona, the cosmopolitan capital of Catalonia, is an open-air museum of a city, bursting with energy, colour and Mediterranean passion. Uniquely combining its rich medieval history with pioneering architecture and a seaside vibe, it is rightly considered one of the most popular and charming destinations in the world. Built between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, the city enchants visitors with its striking contrasts: from the labyrinthine Gothic lanes and the surrealist masterpieces of Antoni Gaudí to the golden sandy beaches, the vibrant boulevards and the outstanding gastronomy. It is a warm, lively and utterly addictive destination offering a complete travel experience.
Barcelona was originally founded as a Roman colony under the name “Barcino” and during the Middle Ages grew into one of the Mediterranean’s most important naval and trading powers. Its history is inextricably linked to the Catalans’ struggles to preserve their autonomy and distinctive cultural identity. At the end of the 19th century, the city experienced an unprecedented economic and artistic flowering (Catalan Modernism), which redefined its urban landscape. Despite the dark periods of the Spanish Civil War and Franco’s dictatorship, Barcelona was fully reborn and soared as a destination with the landmark 1992 Olympic Games, which transformed its waterfront and turned it into the modern global metropolis we admire today.
The tour begins at Plaça de Catalunya and the world-famous Las Ramblas promenade, full of life, street performers and the historic La Boqueria food market. Lose yourself in the lanes of the Gothic Quarter (Barri Gòtic) with its imposing Cathedral. Barcelona is, of course, the city of Gaudí: its ultimate landmark is the Sagrada Família, the breathtaking sculpted basilica, along with the impressive Casa Batlló and Casa Milà (La Pedrera) buildings on the luxurious Passeig de Gràcia boulevard. Do not miss a stroll through the fairy-tale Park Güell with its colourful mosaics and panoramic views, or up the green hill of Montjuïc with its Magic Fountain. For sports fans, the imposing Spotify Camp Nou, the home of FC Barcelona, is a top stop, while the Picasso Museum offers a unique cultural experience.
Catalan cuisine is a hymn to the fresh ingredients of the Mediterranean, harmoniously combining the products of the sea with those of the mountains (Mar i Muntanya). The ultimate gastronomic ritual is Tapas (small sharing plates) and Pintxos, the most famous being Patatas Bravas (potatoes with a spicy sauce) and Pan con Tomate (toasted bread rubbed with tomato and olive oil). Try an authentic Paella (especially the seafood version or the black paella with squid ink) and Fideuà (a similar dish made with short thin noodles instead of rice). For street food, La Boqueria offers fresh juices, Jamón Ibérico cold cuts and cheeses. Accompany your meal with Sangria, a chilled local Estrella Damm beer or a glass of Cava (the Catalan sparkling wine). For dessert, the traditional Crema Catalana is simply irresistible.
Barcelona’s nightlife is legendary and lasts until the early hours of the morning. The action starts late in the evening in the countless trendy little bars of the Gothic Quarter and El Born, where you can enjoy cocktails in historic buildings. The alternative Gràcia district offers a more bohemian, authentically local atmosphere with bustling squares. For those seeking big, world-famous clubs with renowned DJs, the Barceloneta waterfront (Port Olímpic) is the epicentre, with venues such as Opium and Pacha offering dancing right by the sea. If you prefer mainstream and electronic music in a more urban setting, the legendary Razzmatazz (in the Poblenou district) and Sala Apolo guarantee an unforgettable night.
The official currency of Spain is the Euro (€), so there is no need to worry about currency exchange, and cards are used everywhere. Barcelona is one hour behind Greece, and the international dialling code is 0034. The city is served by the main Barcelona-El Prat International Airport (BCN), around 15 kilometres from the centre. The connection to Plaça de Catalunya is extremely easy, fast and cheap via the Aerobús express bus (lines A1 and A2, depending on the terminal), the metro (line L9 Sud) or the train (line R2 Nord from T2). Some low-cost flights use Girona Airport (GRO), around 90 kilometres away, which is connected to Barcelona by express coaches that drop you off at the central Barcelona Nord station.

The full list of what is and is not included appears in the "Included / Excluded" section on this page.
It depends on the season and the destination. Many trips do have a direct flight, but depending on your dates the airlines may not have a direct connection available for that period, in which case the trip may involve one stopover. We will tell you the exact flight routing clearly in your quote, before you proceed with the booking.
Not necessarily. The "From €X" price is the lowest price available today, based on current flight and hotel availability for that destination. Because availability changes daily, the final price for your specific dates may differ. We'll send you a firm, written quote before anything is charged, once you tell us the dates you have in mind.
Flight and hotel prices change daily depending on season, demand, day of the week, and how far in advance you book. That's why the price shown is indicative — the earlier you tell us your dates, the easier it is for us to secure the best possible price.
The single-room supplement varies by hotel and destination, and is included in the quote you'll receive for your specific dates. If you're travelling alone, let us know from the start so the quote already reflects the correct single-room price.
Payment is due in full at the time of booking. For certain hotels that have their own payment policy (for example a deposit or a specific payment deadline), we'll let you know clearly before you proceed, so you know exactly what applies.
Yes — once your booking is confirmed, the price is fixed and won't be affected by later changes in flight or hotel prices. Availability and price can only change before your booking is finalised.
Several trips offer the option to depart from a city other than Athens (for example Thessaloniki), usually with a small additional charge. If this applies to a specific trip, it will be noted on the page or mentioned when we send your quote. This trip is also available departing from Larnaca (Cyprus) — the flight price difference is calculated in your personal quote.
For destinations inside the European Union and the Schengen area, Greek citizens travel with a new-type national ID card bearing Latin characters, or with a valid passport. We recommend carrying your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) as well. Minors must carry their own travel document, and a valid driving licence is required if you are hiring a car. Entry rules change, so please confirm the current requirements with us before you book.
Changes and cancellations follow the terms of the airlines, hotels and suppliers booked for you, so the cost depends on how close to departure you are and on the fare rules of each booking. Tell us as early as possible and we will look for the least costly option. The general terms of participation apply to every booking.
Travel insurance is not included in the price unless the "Included" list on this page says otherwise. We strongly recommend it, especially for trips outside the EU, so that medical care, cancellation and lost luggage are covered. We can arrange a policy for you — just ask when you book.
Yes — this is an individual trip, not a group departure. There is no fixed itinerary and no coach schedule: you travel on your own, at your own pace. We can change the number of nights, the class of hotel, add or drop destinations and arrange transfers, car hire or private guides.
Send us a request through the form on this page, call us, or drop by the office. We will come back with availability and a written quotation before anything is charged. The trip as shown runs for 4 days.
