Montenegro maintained its independence for long periods, even under Ottoman pressure. The Bay of Kotor experienced Venetian prosperity, with its walls and churches testifying to the wealth. The country regained independence in 2006 and quickly became a rising tourist destination.
The Bay of Kotor, one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean, with the medieval town that is a UNESCO monument, is the top sight. Picturesque Perast with its islets, cosmopolitan Budva with its old town and the luxury resort of Sveti Stefan stand out. Durmitor National Park offers wild mountain beauty.
Montenegrin cuisine combines Mediterranean and Balkan flavours. On the coast fresh seafood and olive oil prevail, while inland meat, smoked ham and local cheeses dominate. Try local dishes in tavernas overlooking the bay.
Nightlife is concentrated in Budva, considered the “party capital” of the Adriatic, with bars and clubs that go on until morning. Kotor and Tivat (Porto Montenegro) offer more elegant, cosmopolitan options beside the yachts.

Yes — once your booking is confirmed, the price is fixed and won't be affected by later changes in flight or hotel prices. Availability and price can only change before your booking is finalised.
Several trips offer the option to depart from a city other than Athens (for example Thessaloniki), usually with a small additional charge. If this applies to a specific trip, it will be noted on the page or mentioned when we send your quote.
For this destination, Greek/EU citizens do not need a visa for a tourist visit — a valid passport is enough, usually with at least six months' validity remaining after your return date. A national ID card is not accepted. Entry rules change from time to time, so please confirm the current requirements with our office before you book.
The local currency is Euro. Cards are widely accepted in cities and hotels, but it is worth carrying some cash for small shops, markets and tips. Tell your bank you are travelling so your card is not blocked.
Changes and cancellations follow the terms of the airlines, hotels and suppliers booked for you, so the cost depends on how close to departure you are and on the fare rules of each booking. Tell us as early as possible and we will look for the least costly option. The general terms of participation apply to every booking.
Travel insurance is not included in the price unless the "Included" list on this page says otherwise. We strongly recommend it, especially for trips outside the EU, so that medical care, cancellation and lost luggage are covered. We can arrange a policy for you — just ask when you book.
