A few words

London is the capital of the United Kingdom and one of the largest cities in the world. The city stretches along both banks of the River Thames in the south-east of the country and is famous for its many attractions, its culture, its style and its multicultural character. London is the city that can satisfy every visitor’s need and taste. If you love fairy tales of kings and princes, here you too can feel like royalty, visiting the royal palaces and gardens of the greatest monarchy in the world. Add to that the countless pubs offering plenty of local beer for relaxed evenings, the modern shops of the West End and the huge range of dining options, and London promises you an unforgettable holiday.

History

London dates back to the era of the Roman Empire, when the ancient Romans laid the foundations of today’s city. In the 7th century the Anglo-Saxons began settling here, laying the basis for the city’s development into the form we know today. The Industrial Revolution played a decisive role in the city’s growth. During World War II a large part of London was destroyed, and it was rebuilt over the following decades. From the 1980s onwards the city entered a period of rapid economic and social growth, making it one of the most important cities in the world.

Sights

London has so many attractions that visitors often cannot manage to see them all. We start with London’s emblem, Big Ben, built in 1858 at the northern end of the Palace of Westminster. The tower stands 96.3 metres tall, although its interior is not open to visitors. Next to Big Ben stands the building of the British Parliament. Until 1512 it served as a royal residence and is known as the Palace of Westminster. A short distance away is the British Museum, home to one of the largest collections in the world, with remarkable exhibits and works of art. One of the city’s most famous sights is Buckingham Palace, where visitors can wander through the gardens of the official residence of the British royal family. For a panoramic view of London, be sure to visit the London Eye. The giant wheel was built to welcome the Millennium and has been one of the city’s best-known attractions ever since. Finally, the Madame Tussauds wax museum features wax figures of famous stars from all over the world and attracts huge numbers of visitors every day.

Food

London is a paradise for food lovers. It offers so many dining options that it is extremely hard to choose just one. Here you can find cuisines from 70 different countries and pick the one that best suits your taste. There are food options on every corner of the city. In Chinatown you can enjoy Asian flavours, while in Soho you will find many restaurants specialising in international cuisine. Even in street food, the city offers countless options for a quick and affordable meal. A classic English speciality you can find everywhere and really should try is the traditional fish and chips. For breakfast, don’t miss a full English breakfast, accompanied by a cup of tea — just as the British do.

Nightlife

London is a lively city and, thanks to its size, offers endless options. You can find thousands of bars, clubs, cafés and live-music venues all over the city. If you love electronic music, you will find many live sets by internationally renowned DJs, as well as concerts by major stars of the music scene. The classic English pubs are on every corner, ready to offer you a frothy pint of beer, while there are plenty of clubs to keep you dancing until morning. The most popular areas for going out are Soho, Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus and Covent Garden. For more alternative options head to Brixton or Shoreditch, where you will find bohemian bars to enjoy your evening.

Useful information

The currency of London is the British Pound, with an exchange rate of roughly 1 pound to 1.19 euros. London is two hours behind Greece, and the country’s international dialling code is 0044.

Tour's Location

When is the best time to travel?

This is a made-to-order trip, so you choose the dates. We are happy to advise on the best season for this destination and on how the weather, prices and crowds change through the year — just tell us roughly when you are thinking of travelling.

What is included in the price?

The main inclusions are:

  • Flight tickets
  • 1 cabin bag up to 8 kg
  • Airport taxes
  • Fuel surcharges

The full list of what is and is not included appears in the "Included / Excluded" section on this page.

Will the flight be direct?

It depends on the season and the destination. Many trips do have a direct flight, but depending on your dates the airlines may not have a direct connection available for that period, in which case the trip may involve one stopover. We will tell you the exact flight routing clearly in your quote, before you proceed with the booking.

Is the "From €X" price what I'll actually pay?

Not necessarily. The "From €X" price is the lowest price available today, based on current flight and hotel availability for that destination. Because availability changes daily, the final price for your specific dates may differ. We'll send you a firm, written quote before anything is charged, once you tell us the dates you have in mind.

Why does the price change depending on the date?

Flight and hotel prices change daily depending on season, demand, day of the week, and how far in advance you book. That's why the price shown is indicative — the earlier you tell us your dates, the easier it is for us to secure the best possible price.

How much does a single room cost?

The single-room supplement varies by hotel and destination, and is included in the quote you'll receive for your specific dates. If you're travelling alone, let us know from the start so the quote already reflects the correct single-room price.

When do I pay for my trip?

Payment is due in full at the time of booking. For certain hotels that have their own payment policy (for example a deposit or a specific payment deadline), we'll let you know clearly before you proceed, so you know exactly what applies.

If I book now, is the price locked in?

Yes — once your booking is confirmed, the price is fixed and won't be affected by later changes in flight or hotel prices. Availability and price can only change before your booking is finalised.

Is there a surcharge if I depart from a different city?

Several trips offer the option to depart from a city other than Athens (for example Thessaloniki), usually with a small additional charge. If this applies to a specific trip, it will be noted on the page or mentioned when we send your quote. This trip is also available departing from Larnaca (Cyprus) — the flight price difference is calculated in your personal quote.

What travel documents do I need?

For this destination, Greek/EU citizens do not need a visa for a tourist visit — a valid passport is required (ID cards are not accepted in the UK). A national ID card is not accepted. Entry rules change from time to time, so please confirm the current requirements with us before you book.

Can I change the dates or cancel?

Changes and cancellations follow the terms of the airlines, hotels and suppliers booked for you, so the cost depends on how close to departure you are and on the fare rules of each booking. Tell us as early as possible and we will look for the least costly option. The general terms of participation apply to every booking.

Is travel insurance included?

Travel insurance is not included in the price unless the "Included" list on this page says otherwise. We strongly recommend it, especially for trips outside the EU, so that medical care, cancellation and lost luggage are covered. We can arrange a policy for you — just ask when you book.

Can the trip be customised?

Yes — this is an individual trip, not a group departure. There is no fixed itinerary and no coach schedule: you travel on your own, at your own pace. We can change the number of nights, the class of hotel, add or drop destinations and arrange transfers, car hire or private guides.

How do I book?

Send us a request through the form on this page, call us, or drop by the office. We will come back with availability and a written quotation before anything is charged. The trip as shown runs for 5 days.
