A few words

Paris is the capital of France and one of the most iconic, romantic and influential metropolises in the world, universally known as the “City of Light”. Built on both banks of the River Seine in the north of the country, Paris is the global centre of fashion, haute cuisine, the arts and architecture. The city charms every visitor with its grand 19th-century boulevards (Haussmann), its picturesque artistic neighbourhoods, its world-class museums and the unmatched air of elegance it exudes on every corner. It is a timeless destination that can live up to every expectation, offering a journey full of glamour, culture and unforgettable experiences.

History

The history of Paris begins in the 3rd century BC, when it was founded as a small settlement by a Celtic tribe, the Parisii, on a small island in the Seine (Île de la Cité). It was conquered by the Romans and later, in the 5th century AD, became the capital of the Kingdom of the Franks. During the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, it emerged as one of Europe’s foremost centres of learning and the arts. The French Revolution of 1789, which began here, changed the course of world history, laying the foundations of modern democracy. At the end of the 19th century, during the Belle Époque, the city was architecturally transformed and acquired the glamorous, cosmopolitan identity it retains to this day.

Sights

Paris boasts some of the most recognisable monuments in the world. The city’s ultimate symbol is the Eiffel Tower (Tour Eiffel), the impressive iron structure built for the 1889 World’s Fair, offering a breathtaking view. Walking along the famous Champs-Élysées avenue, you will reach the imposing Arc de Triomphe. For art lovers, a visit to the Louvre Museum (Musée du Louvre) — the largest museum in the world — is essential to see the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo, while the Musée d’Orsay houses masterpieces of Impressionism. On the Île de la Cité stands the historic Notre-Dame Cathedral, while at the top of the hill of picturesque Montmartre rises the gleaming white Basilica of the Sacred Heart (Sacré-Cœur). Finally, a cruise on the Seine with the Bateaux Mouches offers a magical, panoramic perspective of all the city’s historic bridges and palaces.

Food

French gastronomy is protected by UNESCO, and Paris is the perfect place to be initiated into it, whether in a traditional bistro or a Michelin-starred restaurant. Try classic dishes such as Entrecôte frites (rib steak with fries), Coq au Vin (rooster braised in wine) and the famous French onion soup (Soupe à l’oignon). For street food, authentic French crêpes (sweet crêpes and savoury galettes) are an excellent, affordable choice. The city is, above all, the paradise of the boulangerie and the patisserie: start your day with a fluffy, buttery croissant or a pain au chocolat, and sample exquisite desserts such as colourful macarons (especially at Ladurée or Pierre Hermé), éclairs, Tarte Tatin and mille-feuille, accompanied by a fine French coffee or a glass of Bordeaux wine.

Nightlife

Paris’s nightlife offers options for every style, from romantic cocktail bars to legendary cabarets and big clubs. The artistic neighbourhood of Montmartre and the area around Place Pigalle are famous for their liveliness, being home to the legendary Moulin Rouge cabaret. For a younger, livelier and more bohemian atmosphere, the Marais and the Bastille area are full of trendy bars, pubs and bistros that buzz with people every night. Saint-Germain-des-Prés on the Left Bank offers historic cafés and jazz bars with a rich past, while for those seeking high-end clubbing, electronic music and famous DJs, the areas around the Champs-Élysées and the banks of the Seine host some of Europe’s most exclusive clubs.

Useful information

The currency in Paris is the Euro (€), so no currency exchange is needed for travellers from eurozone countries, and cards are used everywhere, even for the smallest amounts. Paris is one hour behind Greece, and France’s international dialling code is 0033. The city is served mainly by two major airports. The main international airport, Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG), lies 25 km to the north-east and is directly connected to the city centre via the RER B suburban train. Paris Orly (ORY) airport lies 13 km to the south and is connected to the centre via Metro line 14 or the Orlybus express bus. Some low-cost airlines use Beauvais (BVA) airport, around 85 km from Paris, which is connected to the city by dedicated express shuttle buses timed to coincide with flights.

Tour's Location

When is the best time to travel?

This is a made-to-order trip, so you choose the dates. We are happy to advise on the best season for this destination and on how the weather, prices and crowds change through the year — just tell us roughly when you are thinking of travelling.

What is included in the price?

The main inclusions are:

  • Flight tickets
  • 1 cabin bag up to 8 kg (and 1 personal item)
  • Airport taxes
  • Fuel surcharges

The full list of what is and is not included appears in the "Included / Excluded" section on this page.

Will the flight be direct?

It depends on the season and the destination. Many trips do have a direct flight, but depending on your dates the airlines may not have a direct connection available for that period, in which case the trip may involve one stopover. We will tell you the exact flight routing clearly in your quote, before you proceed with the booking.

Is the "From €X" price what I'll actually pay?

Not necessarily. The "From €X" price is the lowest price available today, based on current flight and hotel availability for that destination. Because availability changes daily, the final price for your specific dates may differ. We'll send you a firm, written quote before anything is charged, once you tell us the dates you have in mind.

Why does the price change depending on the date?

Flight and hotel prices change daily depending on season, demand, day of the week, and how far in advance you book. That's why the price shown is indicative — the earlier you tell us your dates, the easier it is for us to secure the best possible price.

How much does a single room cost?

The single-room supplement varies by hotel and destination, and is included in the quote you'll receive for your specific dates. If you're travelling alone, let us know from the start so the quote already reflects the correct single-room price.

When do I pay for my trip?

Payment is due in full at the time of booking. For certain hotels that have their own payment policy (for example a deposit or a specific payment deadline), we'll let you know clearly before you proceed, so you know exactly what applies.

If I book now, is the price locked in?

Yes — once your booking is confirmed, the price is fixed and won't be affected by later changes in flight or hotel prices. Availability and price can only change before your booking is finalised.

Is there a surcharge if I depart from a different city?

Several trips offer the option to depart from a city other than Athens (for example Thessaloniki), usually with a small additional charge. If this applies to a specific trip, it will be noted on the page or mentioned when we send your quote. This trip is also available departing from Larnaca (Cyprus) — the flight price difference is calculated in your personal quote.

What travel documents do I need?

For destinations inside the European Union and the Schengen area, Greek citizens travel with a new-type national ID card bearing Latin characters, or with a valid passport. We recommend carrying your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) as well. Minors must carry their own travel document, and a valid driving licence is required if you are hiring a car. Entry rules change, so please confirm the current requirements with us before you book.

Can I change the dates or cancel?

Changes and cancellations follow the terms of the airlines, hotels and suppliers booked for you, so the cost depends on how close to departure you are and on the fare rules of each booking. Tell us as early as possible and we will look for the least costly option. The general terms of participation apply to every booking.

Is travel insurance included?

Travel insurance is not included in the price unless the "Included" list on this page says otherwise. We strongly recommend it, especially for trips outside the EU, so that medical care, cancellation and lost luggage are covered. We can arrange a policy for you — just ask when you book.

Can the trip be customised?

Yes — this is an individual trip, not a group departure. There is no fixed itinerary and no coach schedule: you travel on your own, at your own pace. We can change the number of nights, the class of hotel, add or drop destinations and arrange transfers, car hire or private guides.

How do I book?

Send us a request through the form on this page, call us, or drop by the office. We will come back with availability and a written quotation before anything is charged. The trip as shown runs for 4 days.
