A journey to one of the most important and beautiful countries at the southern tip of Latin America, with a rich history and unique natural beauty. From cosmopolitan Buenos Aires, often called the “Paris of South America,” to Tierra del Fuego at its southern tip—the “end of the world,” as it is known—with its glaciers and rugged landscapes, this is a country that every traveler deserves and needs to experience. A unique itinerary, from the glamorous capital to Patagonia, the Perito Moreno Glacier, the Beagle Channel, and the Martial Glacier, which constitutes a unique life experience.
Departure dates: Regular departures with a minimum participation of 2 people, until 31/03/2027
Departure from Athens to Buenos Aires via an intermediate stop. Overnight on the plane.
Arrival in Buenos Aires and transfer to the hotel. The capital of Argentina, nicknamed the Paris of Latin America, keeps the charm of another era of grandeur and global glamour from the interwar period intact. Time to rest and a free afternoon. Overnight at the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel, followed by a city tour. We will visit the historic Plaza de Mayo, where the famous Casa Rosada, the Cabildo, and the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Cathedral—housing the tomb of San Martín—are located.
Next, our route follows the Avenida de Mayo, known for its variety of architectural styles, which leads to the Avenida 9 de Julio, one of the widest avenues in the world. This avenue, filled with gardens, fountains, and sculptures, also features the iconic Obelisk, the city’s primary symbol.
Following this, the tour takes visitors to San Telmo, the oldest neighborhood in Buenos Aires. The area is famous for the outdoor antique market held every Sunday, as well as its particularly vibrant cultural and culinary scene, with high-quality restaurants, bars, and traditional “tanguerías” featuring live tango dance performances.
We will then head to La Boca, the legendary tango neighborhood, where we will visit the historic El Caminito street with its picturesque houses and improvising tango dancers, and the famous stadium of the historic Boca Juniors football club, La Bombonera.
We continue our tour to Puerto Madero, where the old harbor warehouses have been renovated and transformed into modern professional and residential spaces, as well as high-end restaurants and entertainment venues, all with panoramic views of the Río de la Plata.
Our route continues toward the Palermo district, known for its stately mansions and extensive green spaces, and concludes in Recoleta. There, we find notable monuments and cultural sites, such as the Nuestra Señora del Pilar church, the Recoleta Cultural Center, and the Palais de Glace building. A visit to the Cemetery is impressive due to its architectural value, its specific historical references, and the prominent historical figures buried there, most notably Eva Perón (Evita).
Transfer and return to the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel and a free day to enjoy the city and its attractions or choose an optional excursion.
Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the airport for our flight to El Calafate. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Overnight.
Breakfast at the hotel, followed by a visit to the Perito Moreno Glacier park. Leaving El Calafate, we will see Lake Argentino and Redonda Bay on our right, and during the 80-kilometer journey to the glacier, we will have the chance to admire the area’s rich fauna, including black-necked swans, flamingos, and ducks. Arriving at the park, the first sight is breathtaking. A unique, unprecedented spectacle that we will have the opportunity to enjoy from different angles from the park’s balconies at various levels. Return to the hotel and free time.
Breakfast at the hotel and a free day to explore this beautiful town or take part in optional excursions.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for our flight to Ushuaia, the “last” city before the South Pole. Arrival, transfer to the hotel, and overnight.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will begin our excursion to Tierra del Fuego National Park via an interesting route. Upon arrival, the first sights we will see are Redonda and Estorbo Islands, followed by Lake Roca, which is home to different species of rare birds. We will have free time to enjoy the unique landscape and then head towards Lapataia Bay, crossing the Cormorants Islands.
Arriving at the bay, besides the coastline, rich in mollusks and mussels, we will find traces of the ancient indigenous settlers who lived in the area. We will have time to walk across the pedestrian bridge and take photos of… the end of the world. The return to Ushuaia will be via the Chico pass.
In the afternoon, we will be transferred to the pier and board the ferry to begin our tour of the Beagle Channel and Sea Lion Island. As we move away from the coast, we will have a panoramic view of Ushuaia and its important landmarks, such as the Maritime Museum—formerly a prison—the End of the World Museum, the industrial area, and the Olivia and Cinco Hermanos mountains. Sailing southwest, we will approach Sea Lion Island, where, from the ship, we will have the opportunity to enjoy the view and the activity of the sea lions in their permanent environment within a magnificent landscape.
We continue sailing toward Bird Island, a habitat for Magellanic Cormorants and Imperial Cormorants, and a prime area to see specimens of marine fauna. We then travel toward the Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse, in the archipelago of the same name, where the ship Mount Cervantes was wrecked in 1930.
The return to Ushuaia will be via the Paso Chico, seeing the Estancias tunnel and farmhouses, with the imposing view that Mount Martial and its glacier offer the city. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for our flight to Buenos Aires for our last night before returning to Greece. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Free time for one last stroll in this unique city and overnight.
