Individual Trip: Kuala Lumpur, Taman Negara, 7 days

Day 1: Athens – Kuala Lumpur

Departure via an intermediate stop and arrival the next day in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. A city that combines the traditional with the modern, such as towering skyscrapers—in fact, there are two of the largest in the world, the Petronas Towers—with colorful glass and Moorish arches, slums, and Chinese neighborhoods. Populous and vibrant, it seems as if it has stepped out of the pages of Eastern fairy tales.

Day 2: Kuala Lumpur

Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel. A day for rest, and in the evening, we suggest a traditional local dinner.

Day 3: Kuala Lumpur

Today you will begin our tour of the city, through the Perdana Botanical Gardens and a visit to the National Mosque. You will pass by the old railway station to Independence Square in front of the Sultan Abdul Samat Palace and take a walk through the Central Market. You will also see one of the city’s first buildings, the Masjid Jamek, on the Gombak and Klang rivers. Afterwards, you will head to Chinatown and see the local market. After walking through Chinatown, you will pass by Kampung Baru, a typical neighborhood with traditional houses of Malaysian architecture, and the tour will conclude at the famous Petronas Towers. Return to the hotel, and in the evening, we recommend going out for a drink and food in the Bukit Bintang area in the city center.

Day 4: Kuala Lumpur

For today, we suggest a full-day excursion to the beautiful colonial city of Malacca. En route, you will visit the museum of the Minangkabau tribe, who arrived here from Indonesia many years ago.
Arrival in Malacca and a visit to the ruins of St. Paul’s Gate; you will climb the fortress hill to admire what remains of the Catholic St. Paul’s Church and, of course, the statue of the missionary St. Francis Xavier. Then, you will descend to the Dutch district, where the square of the same name, the church, the Dutch town hall, and the Queen Victoria Fountain are located. You will also have time to walk through the old quarter and enjoy the colonial atmosphere and, of course, the local cuisine. In the afternoon, return to Kuala Lumpur.

Day 5: Kuala Lumpur – Taman Negara

Breakfast and transfer to Ramada Suites for the departure to the forest. After a 4-hour drive to Kuala Tahan, you will cross the Tembeling River by boat to reach our lodge in the center of the forest, surrounded by dense jungle. Check-in to your wooden bungalow and lunch at the restaurant. The afternoon is free for you to rest or walk along the jungle trails. After dinner at 20:30, you will start your night jungle tour to discover nocturnal wildlife species—such as, if you are lucky, the largest carnivorous ant in the world—and local flora. Overnight stay.

Day 6: Taman Negara

After breakfast at 09:30, today is dedicated to the unique ecosystem of the Taman Negara region. You will begin our trek through the jungle towards Teresik Hill, where you will walk across seven canopy walkways connected between tall trees at a height of 60 to 100 meters (those with a fear of heights may avoid them). You will return through the tropical paths to the restaurant for lunch, and at 14:30, after grabbing your swimsuits and towels, you will board wooden motorized pirogues for a magnificent trip filled with stunning landscapes on the Tahan River, part of the great Lata Berkoh River. There will be a stop for snorkeling and fish adoption for ecological reasons in the area, and then, after 10 minutes on the river, you will walk for 10 minutes through the jungle to reach a natural pool where you can swim in the cool waters. Return to the lodge for rest, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Taman Negara – Kuala Lumpur – Athens/Thessaloniki

Breakfast and departure at noon for the Kuala Lumpur airport for our return to Greece, arriving the following day, unless you stay in Kuala Lumpur to continue your trip to the country’s various islands (Langkawi, Penang, Pangkor, Redang, etc.) or the amazing Borneo.
