2-Day Pyli – Elati – Pertouli – Trikala

A two-day trip along the slopes of Mount Koziakas and in the city of Trikala: stone bridges, alpine scenery and traditional villages of the Pindus mountains, with an overnight stay at a central hotel in the city.

Departure: Saturday, October 24, 2026, 07:00 from Xylokastro and 07:20 from Kiato.

Day 1: Xylokastro – Kiato – Trikala

Departure at 07:00 in the morning from Xylokastro and at 07:20 from Kiato, heading to Trikala, a beautiful city built on the site of ancient Trikki — according to mythology, the nymph Trikki was a daughter of the river god Peneus — and the birthplace of Asclepius, the renowned physician of antiquity. The city owes much of its beauty to the picturesque Lithaios river, as well as to its historical monuments, excellent urban layout, spacious squares, parks and pedestrian streets. Arrival, check-in at our rooms and free time. In the evening, we recommend a pleasant stroll through the city’s traditional shops and bars. Overnight stay.

Day 2: Pyli – Pertouli – Elati – return

After breakfast, departure for the slopes of Mount Koziakas, with a first stop at Pyli to visit its beautiful stone arched bridge. We continue to Pertouli, a unique alpine landscape with dense fir forests, with free time for a relaxing walk and coffee. We then head to Elati, a traditional village with stone houses, panoramic views, tasty taverns and shops selling traditional products — herbs, mountain tea, wood carvings. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, departure for the return journey.
