Known as the “Island of the Gods”, Bali is a place unlike any other — lush rice terraces, ancient Hindu temples, and a spirituality that infuses everyday life, all wrapped in a climate that invites relaxation year-round. This tour combines an in-depth exploration of Bali with a taste of ultra-modern Singapore.
Tour Itinerary
Athens – Bali. Gather at the airport for our flight to Bali, via a connecting stop.
Bali (arrival). Arrival, transfer to and check-in at our hotel. The rest of the day is free for a first taste of the island. Bali sits in the middle of Indonesia, opposite the easternmost tip of Java. Thanks to its position between the Equator and the Tropic of Cancer, temperatures range between 20–35°C, creating ideal conditions for a relaxing holiday all year round. What makes the island truly special isn’t only its breathtaking landscapes — within Indonesia’s largely Muslim archipelago, Bali is the only island where Hinduism prevails, which lends it a distinctive character all its own. Rightly nicknamed the “Island of the Gods”, one of Bali’s most important sights is its temples, which serve as a means of communication between residents and the divine spirits through prayer and offerings. On “holy days”, when according to legend the gods and spirits descend to earth, temples become centres of large community gatherings. Temple festivals guide purification rituals, with entire communities taking part, bringing baskets of food and beautiful exotic flowers as offerings.
Bali – Tour, Kintamani Volcano. A full-day excursion into the island’s interior. Passing exotic landscapes through rice paddies and palm forests, we head toward the centre of the island and Kintamani. Our first stop is the village of Singapadu, where we’ll watch a traditional Barong dance performance, before continuing to Mas village, known for its woodcarvings. We continue to the Goa Gajah Elephant Cave, a temple dating back to the 9th century — its entrance carved with various rock sculptures, the main one resembling an elephant’s face, which gives the sanctuary its name. The site also features a large pool, fountains, and courtyard. Next, we stop at a coffee plantation before reaching Kintamani, perched at 1,500m on the edge of the Batur Caldera, with sweeping views of the lake and the active volcano beyond. Finally, we visit Tirta Empul Temple, near the town of Tampaksiring in Manukaya village, about 30 minutes from northern Ubud — one of Indonesia’s largest water temples. Founded in 926 AD and dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu god of water, its name literally means “holy spring” in Balinese. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.
Bali – Monkey Forest, Mengwi Temple, Tanah Lot. Departure for an excursion into the island’s interior. We visit the impressive 17th-century Taman Ayun Temple, surrounded by a wide moat that gives the impression it’s floating on a lake. We continue to Alas Kedaton, the sacred monkey forest, where hundreds of “well-behaved” (and quite mischievous) monkeys live in the woods surrounding the temple. We finish at one of Bali’s seven “sea temples”, the Hindu temple of Tanah Lot. Built atop a large rock, it’s surrounded by the waters of the Indian Ocean at high tide; according to tradition, venomous sea snakes serve as its guardians. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay.
Bali – Full-day Ubud excursion. A full day in Ubud, a picturesque area tucked away in rural Bali. Departure and transfer to the village’s central market, with time for shopping. We then visit the Tegalalang area to walk among the rice terraces, with the option (at your own cost) to try the famous Ubud swing. We continue to Gunung Kawi, an 11th-century temple and funerary complex in Tampaksiring village, spanning both banks of the Pakerisan River. It consists of 10 rock-cut shrines (candi) carved roughly 7 metres up into the sheltered niches of a sheer cliff face, believed to be dedicated to King Anak Wungsu of the Udayana dynasty and his beloved queens. Our final stop is Tegenungan Waterfall, in Tegenungan Kemenuh village. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay.
Bali (free days). Free days to relax and swim, or explore the island further — a place steeped in deep tradition and culture.
Bali – Singapore. Transfer to the airport for our flight to Singapore. On arrival, transfer to and check-in at our hotel. Overnight stay.
Singapore – City Tour. Breakfast, followed by a panoramic city tour (approx. 4 hours), passing through the Malay quarter with its golden mosque, the Botanic Gardens’ orchid collection — whose beauty and variety will leave you speechless — the Indian quarter with its intoxicating scent of spices, Chinatown, and the city’s European district. Overnight stay.
Singapore (free day). A free day to explore the ultra-modern city, browse its shopping malls, or join an optional excursion to Sentosa Island. Late at night — in the early hours of the following day — transfer to the airport for your return flight.
