Tour itinerary

Departure dates: 06 – 13 November 2026

DAY 1 (Friday, 06 November) — Athens – Flight to Cairo

Departure from Xylokastro, Kiato, Vrachati and Corinth for “El. Venizelos” Airport and a direct flight to Cairo. There we will meet our representative, before passport control, for the necessary procedures. Transfer to the hotel and overnight stay.

DAY 2 (Saturday, 07 November) — Cairo – City tour

Breakfast and a full-day guided tour, starting with the Grand Egyptian Museum, the largest archaeological museum in the world, home to countless treasures of ancient Egyptian history. We continue to the majestic Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, along with the Sphinx. Stop for lunch at a local Cairo restaurant, followed by a visit to papyrus and perfume workshops. Return to the hotel, free time and overnight stay.

DAY 3 (Sunday, 08 November) — Cairo – Alexandria

Breakfast and departure for a full-day excursion to Alexandria, the city founded and inhabited by Alexander the Great. First stop at the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa. Visit and guided tour inside the new Library of Alexandria, a unique architectural achievement: designed to converge towards the sea, with part of it submerged in a water basin, symbolising the ancient Egyptian sun rising from the sea. We will then see the Greek Patriarchate, the Hellenistic community and the Citadel of Qaitbay, built on the site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria, as well as the house of the Alexandrian poet Constantine Cavafy. Afterwards, stop for lunch at a restaurant in Alexandria. Return to Cairo late in the afternoon. Free time at your disposal. Overnight stay.

DAY 4 (Monday, 09 November) — Flight to Luxor

Morning flight to Luxor. Arrival and visit to the Temple of Luxor, which the ancient Egyptians called the “southern harem of Amun”. This great ancient Egyptian temple complex began to be excavated after 1884, with work continuing sporadically until 1960. At noon, boarding the cruise ship, cabin check-in and lunch. Later we continue our tour with the Temple of Karnak, the largest religious site of antiquity: with its hypostyle hall of 134 columns, its sanctuary and sacred lake, it boasts 18 distinct sacred precincts. Return to the ship and buffet dinner. Free time afterwards to explore the ship and admire the view of the Nile from the deck. Overnight stay.

DAY 5 (Tuesday, 10 November) — Luxor – Cruising – Esna

Breakfast and a tour of the West Bank and the Valley of the Kings, one of the most significant discoveries of ancient Egypt. More than 60 tombs, including that of Tutankhamun, lie in this part of the desert. The Pharaohs chose this location believing that the sun rising behind the mountains would grant them eternal life. Lunch on board and we continue to one of the most beautiful architectural masterpieces in the world, the mortuary temple of Hatshepsut, Egypt’s first female pharaoh. We finish with the Colossi of Memnon. Sailing onward, passing through Esna. Dinner follows. Overnight stay.

DAY 6 (Wednesday, 11 November) — Cruising – Edfu & Kom Ombo

Breakfast and sailing along the lush green banks of the Nile, which throughout its history has served as a transport artery for goods and ideas alike. We continue to the west bank and arrive at Edfu, home to the best-preserved temple in Egypt, dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus. The inscriptions on its walls provide valuable insight into the language, mythology and religion of the Greco-Roman period; particularly notable are the scenes depicting the eternal battle between Horus and Seth. Time for lunch, and we continue along the sacred river to Kom Ombo, where we will tour the temple of the crocodile god Sobek and learn its myths and legends. It is in fact a double temple, dedicated to the gods Sobek and Haroeris. Dinner and entertainment on board. Overnight stay.

DAY 7 (Thursday, 12 November) — Cruising – Aswan

Breakfast and sailing to Aswan. For those who wish, an optional early tour at 04:00, before breakfast, visits Abu Simbel, one of Egypt’s most famous archaeological sites, with two magnificent temples carved into sandstone rock. Today’s touring programme includes a visit to the impressive Aswan High Dam, built of granite, over 3 kilometres long and 111 metres high above the Nile’s base, as well as the Unfinished Obelisk. Visit to Philae Island and the famous Temple of Isis. Lunch and dinner on board. Overnight stay.

DAY 8 (Friday, 13 November) — Aswan – Cairo – Flight to Athens

Morning disembarkation and transfer to the airport for the flight to Cairo. On arrival we will head straight to Old Cairo, which is also linked to the Greek community. In the same area stands the Holy Church of Saint George, on the site where the Saint was imprisoned and martyred, the crypts of the Patriarchs of Alexandria, the Hanging Church and the Greek cemetery of Cairo. This was also the site of ancient Babylon of Egypt, where the Holy Family sought refuge to save the Christ Child from the massacre ordered by Herod. Lunch at a local restaurant, and later we will walk through the colourful, bustling Khan el-Khalili bazaar. Transfer to the airport for the return flight. Return home full of beautiful memories and experiences.
